If you want to quickly shut off your Mac without the warning dialog, try holding down the ‘Option’ key while selecting “Shut Down” from the Apple Menu. This will cause the system to shutdown without the two minute dialog box coming up to verify your shutdown/restart plans.

It is very easy to mount an ISO image in Mac OS X. In the Terminal type the following command: hdiutil mount sample.iso with sample.iso being the path to the image you want to mount. After the checksum is completed, then ISO will appear mounted on your Mac OS X desktop - that’s it. You can mount virtually any other disk image type with "hdiutil" as well, like .dmg .img.
